She is one of the major figure in pop music scene of Latin America for more than a decade. Her first album in the English-speaking market was Laundry Service. More than fifteen million copies of this album was sold worldwide.
Among the Colombian artists, Shakira is the highest-selling of all time. She is the only artist of Colombian to have reached the number-one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart. |
